2nd Post Ad 4 An Author & Blathering Of Mine ;-)

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there! LOL!
The first portion of my blog is a reprint of Scott Nicholson's post to his Yahoo Group and I wanted to share it with my readers (all the zillions of you out there LOL!) Hey! Comment, so I know what you think of this thing and I know who you are... Muahahahahaha!

Scott Nicholson says:
Hey, I'll be pulling many of my ebooks out of Amazon's Select program soon, meaning I won't be able to make them free. I still want to reach the million-copy giveaway goal, so feel free to share my current roster of upcoming freebies! And if you read any of my free ebooks and liked them, please leave a review to help both me and future readers. And if you hated them, well, you must be far too normal to be getting this newsletter. Heh.

Also drop in on eBookSwag.com, where we're giving away five $25 gift cards and an Oberon Kindle cover this week! And if you want an ebook copy of Liquid Fear, Chronic Fear, or Fangs in Bed (written as K.C. Carr), just send me an email--I'd be grateful for any reviews.

I hope your summer is off to a great start. I'm busy planting tomatoes, potatoes, and corn, working on a post-apocalyptic thriller called AFTER, and novelizing my hillbilly noir screenplay PLAYIN' POSSUM. Drop me a line to let me know of your endeavors!

Two weeks ago this evening, I began walking a half mile (or so... feels longer to me, sometimes... but shorter others...) path through the woods on this property and I am enjoying it immensely!
I'm sure it's improving my health in many ways and hopefully it will help me lose the weight that I've gained back that I had LOST in the last couple of years... *sigh*
I enjoy the quiet and the solitude and just communing with nature for the 20 or 30 minutes that I'm out there at least once a day (when the path isn't soggy and so far, I've not missed a day in the last 2 weeks!) and a few days I've walked it twice a day and even three times a day a couple of days!
I've discovered that besides the single Aspen tree on this whole property (that I know of) and a few Sweet Gum trees, my favorite trees in the woods are Red Bud trees :-D
I'd never really noticed them the rest of the year when they didn't have their "red" buds on them (I'd call them purple, myself LOL!), but they have beautifully heart-shaped leaves (nearly perfect, like Valentine hearts, I kid you not!) and they have seed pods that look like pea pods that haven't filled out... I also noticed that the trees are nearly like vines... They remind me of trees in Japanese art, all willowy and small and when they drape across the path, I especially love the way they look...
I hope to keep up with my walking as much as possible, weather permitting. When it rains a lot, the path becomes a soggy mess, especially in a few places and in Winter, there is no WAY that I will be walking it unless it is on warmer, drier days, because the path is too hilly and I'd be sliding more than walking when it's icy, snowy or wet.
I plan on using an exercise machine we have to keep myself in shape so I don't completely go to pot when I can't get out on the path during nasty weather LOL!
Normally that exercise machine kills me, but after all the walking I've done and plan to do, I should be able to take it when I have to use it LOL!
Well, I'm done blathering for now, but I'll attempt to do this everyday that I remember... emphasis on attempt... LOL!
Please comment, if only to say hi, so I know who reads my blog and it gives me more of a reason to keep blogging ;-)
Have a great day!

I opened this Blogger account because my dear friend Paul Minturn began blogging about Giallo cinema in his Room For Giallo blog here on Blogger.
Other than that, I'd just added a few other blogs that interest me to my list that I follow, but I decided to begin a blog of my own...
It's really not about any certain thing, but I began walking on a path in the woods on this property a couple of weeks ago. I shall begin with that, I guess, if I have to... LOL!
I'm overweight. Have been off and on most of my life. I HATE to exercise and I LOVE to eat! And I prefer things I shouldn't eat, but even when I eat things that are GOOD for me, I tend to eat too much...
A couple of weeks ago, on Wednesday, May 16, I decided to take my oldest dog for a long walk in the woods. I'd walked it with him on a couple of warmish days in the late Winter/early Spring when the path was relatively dry, but we'd only walked the circular part of the path that leads from the back yard to the road out front. I decided to go out the trail that sort of leads to nowhere, also, which makes the path 1/2 mile long, total, round trip (I've been told.). I need to wear a pedometer to measure it sometime. It's probably correct, but sometimes it feels like it's a LOT longer than that and at other times it feels shorter LOL!
I have walked it at least once a day since then. A couple of days I've walked it 3 times a day and several days I've walked it twice a day.
I guess it's a good thing I began walking when I did, because LAST Wednesday, May 23, my truck broke down in town (6 miles away) and I decided to walk home, since I'd left my computer online while I was gone, downloading podcasts and couldn't call my SO to tell him that I needed assistance LOL!
Well, I walked 2 miles and a kind stranger stopped to offer me a ride. He was only going a couple of miles, but that would save me that much walking and those miles included climbing a small hill that was a LARGE hill on the other side to go down. The road is very heavily-trafficked and the traffic drives haphazardly, besides there isn't a sidewalk or a wide area to walk on beside the road in most places...
As soon as that guy dropped me off and he went to his house there, another truck went by with 2 guys in it... I was dubious when they turned around and came back, asking me if I needed a ride, but they knew my SO's uncle, so I thought, what the heck? Die by their hand or die walking up a HUGE hill I had to face near the end of our road... LOL!
They drove me the rest of the way, dropped me off, my SO drove me back to town, temporarily fixed my truck's problem (corrosion on a battery terminal), then as I drove my truck back home, my SO bought a new battery terminal in town, installed it when he got home, so now I should not have to worry about having that problem again for a long time, if ever... Old truck though, so... *sigh*
I got off subject, but I was thankful that I'd began walking a week before my truck broke down, so I was in a little better shape to walk the 2 miles I walked than I would have been, had I NOT been walking for a week LOL!
More later, gang!
*snicker*
